Lentil Chili Con Carne
Lentils help to stretch the meat as well as adding fiber in this recipe.
In a heavy skillet, brown beef with onion and garlic. Drain off excess fat.
Add tomato sauce, lentils, mushrooms, water, chili powder and pepper. bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, covered, 1 hour.
Add vinegar and simmer 15 minutes.

Ingredients
454 g   lean ground beef 1 lb
1   medium onion, chopped
1   garlic clove, minced
540 mL   can tomato sauce 19 oz
250 mL   cooked Nona's Instant Lentejas 1 cup
284 mL   can whole mushrooms, drained 10 oz
125 mL   water 1/2 cup
15 mL   chili powder 1 tbsp
2 mL   ground black pepper 1/2 tsp
15 mL   white vinegar 1 tbsp
