SUPER ODOR ABSORBER
Dear Heloise: In the January issue, one of your hints was for "Musty Closets," for which you suggested activated charcoal. I've checked supermarkets and drugstores, but salespeople keep referring me to the charcoal used for barbecues. Can you help?
- Joan Islamorada, Fl
Activated charcoal (aka activated carbon) is a porous material made of coal, wood, coconut shells, peat or pulp mill fly ash. For the most effective form of this odor-absorber, look for brands made of coconut shells.
